Hello from Duck and Dragon

Hello from Duck and Dragon

From School Run Stress to "Don’t Get the Duck": Our Story

Every parent knows that heart-in-mouth feeling when a toddler gets a little too close to the curb or a car door opens unexpectedly during the morning rush. For one UK mum, that daily anxiety became the spark for something much bigger than just a walk to the gates.

It Started with a Simple Need for Safety

The school run is often the most chaotic part of the day. Between heavy traffic and distracted drivers, keeping little ones focused on road safety can feel like a constant battle. Duck and Dragon was born right there on the pavement outside a school gate.

To keep our little ducks engaged and away from the road, our founder created a quick, spontaneous game to turn "staying safe" into "playing a game." It wasn't about lectures; it was about making sure they were keeping away from the roads having fun, and—most importantly—getting them in a good mood before going into school.

"You Should Actually Make This!"

What started as a personal trick for her own family quickly caught the eye of other parents at the school gates. After hearing, "That’s brilliant, you should really turn that into a real thing," more times than she could count, she decided to take the leap.

One Year Later: Printing a Dream

It’s been a whirlwind year of learning and creating. We’ve gone from scribbled ideas to owning a 3D printer and refining our very first designs. We are officially a UK-based company now, and the mission remains the same: helping parents breathe a little easier.

Coming Soon: Don’t Get the Duck

We are currently in the final stages of bringing our flagship game, Don’t Get the Duck, to life. It’s designed to be exactly what that first version was—simple, fast, and effective at keeping kids engaged during the walk to school.

We’re so excited to share our progress with you as we move toward our official launch. Whether you're a parent, a grandparent, or anyone who braves the school run, we hope our story resonates with you.
